  • "Been using this pub for about a year now, after moving to the village 2 years ago. The owner Faye is just brilliant, always welcoming and has turned this place around in such a short time. Some great live band nights, and quiz once a month. But like all successful businesses, it wouldn't be anything without good staff, and I think Faye has the best staff around. The most fantastic bunch behind the bar, who don't take long to get to know you, and what you drink. In truth this place has been a lifeline for me. More than just a pub, and I don't think they realise how important to some that is. And that's down to the warm, friendly welcoming atmosphere you receive, whether it's you're first visit or you're hundredth."

  • "Having not had a Sunday dinner for 3 years, I was determined as my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, I was going to correct that. I'd heard that the Sunday dinners in The Royal Oak were good, so thought why not give it a go. Good? That as it turned out was one hell of an understatement, they are fantastic, just like I remember from home. Add the cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets and you are in for a real treat. The only problem I found was not leaving room for one of the great looking desserts, after clearing my plate. Still, gives me a good reason to go back, like I needed one 😁"

  • "Quite simply the best roast dinner I've had and this is now the standard setter for all other pub Sunday lunches. I had the 3 meat roast, and the plate arrived with generous proportions as the photo shows. All meats were individually cooked perfectly, if I wasn't full at the end I would have been happy to have another plate! All the staff were really friendly and attentive and served with a smile and as busy as it was, the time waiting for dinner was perfectly satisfactory. All the rest of my family really enjoyed their respective dinners. Lovely Leicestershire beer by Everard's on draft too, so couldn't resist a pint of tiger. Highly recommend a visit"
